Man cleared of kidnapping Maidstone child

A Lithuanian man has been cleared of trying to abduct a young boy from outside his Maidstone home.

Saulius Klevinskas was alleged to have first approached the youngster in a kebab shop and offered him money. He then followed the boy back to his house and when the child’s mother tried to rescue him, Klevinskas was also accused of punching her.

Andrew Espley, prosecuting at Maidstone Crown Court, said Klevinskas then assaulted the boy’s father before he was himself given "a good kicking" in an attempt to detain him.

The 34-year-old, of Old Tovil Road, Maidstone, denied abducting a child, sexual assault and two charges of battery and was cleared all of all charges.
