Man dies after car hit tree on M25 near Clacket Lane services

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man who crashed into a tree off the M25 died.

The incident occurred near to junctions 6 and 5 just before Clacket Lane services at around 2.40am this morning.

A man in his 20s was travelling towards Kent when his blue BMW left the road and hit a tree. He died at the scene.

Four passengers were also injured, two seriously, and are receiving hospital treatment.

Surrey Police, who are investigating, are urging any witnesses - particularly one who is believed to have stopped - to come forward.

A spokesman said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision on the M25 earlier this morning (April 2).

"Officers believe a witness stopped at the scene before police arrived and are looking to hear from anyone who may have information.
