A man was rescued after falling into a trench in Goudhurst this morning.
The man, said to be in his 40s, was working on a building site in North Road when he fell into a 3-metre deep trench at about 11.15am.
An urban search and rescue team helped firecrews from Cranbrook and Tenterden winch the man to safety.
The rescue operation took more than two hours and the victim was lifted to ground level on a spinal board.
He was treated by paramedics at the site. His injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
Police cordoned off North Road to traffic during the rescue. The road reopened just after 2pm.
