A man has been taken to a London hospital in a serious condition after he was hit by a car.

The victim was knocked down by the car wash on Ashford Road, Bearsted, at 7pm and was treated at the scene before being flown to the capital.

Hi injuries are serious but not believed to be life threatening.

The road was reopened at 11.30pm.
