A motorist had to be cut free from his car this morning (Friday, June 25) after it collided with another vehicle on Teston Bridge.

The 22-year-old was freed from his green Peugeot 106 by Kent Fire and Rescue Service shortly after the crash in Teston Lane, which happened at 8.15am.

He was taken by ambulance to Maidstone Hospital with non life-threatening injuries to his neck and back.

The 35-year-old male driver of the other car involved, a yellow Smart car, suffered minor neck pain and was not taken to hospital.

The road was closed by police for a structural engineer to assess the bridge as it had been clipped by one of the cars.

The bridge was reopened at 10.26am.
