A man has been injured after falling down a cellar at a hairdresser's this afternoon.

The casualty fell in Solo Hair Studio, in Bank Street, Maidstone, at around 1pm.

Staff at the salon said the man was a colleague.

The extent of his injuries is not yet known, but he has been taken to hospital.

Three crews from South East Coast Ambulance Service arrived at the scene and were seen treating the patient.

A spokesman for the emergency service said more than one team was needed to help move the man.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent a crew from Maidstone to assist the paramedics.
