A man who poured boiling water over his girlfriend during a row has been sentenced to six years.
Jason Day, of Cambridge Crescent, Maidstone, poured a kettle over Daphne Thompson’s shoulder and back causing her excruciating pain, a court heard.
Day, 42, has admitted causing grievous bodily harm.
A judge ruled that he will serve two years in prison, and will then be on licence for a further two years.
Canterbury Crown Court heard that the incident happened last August, when the couple had been together for three months, during an argument about money.

Prosecutor Catherine Donnelly said: "She felt the burning and she was in excruciating pain.”
