Man left injured after robbery

A 48-year-old man was left with a fractured jaw after he was beaten and robbed.

He had spent the evening in the town centre and was walking in Maidstone's Lower Boxley Road, near bike shop Hein Gericke, when his attacker struck from behind.

The offender punched and kicked the man to the ground before making off with his money and mobile phone.

The victim was badly shaken by the incident.

As the man was approached from behind, he does not know if there was just one attacker or a group.

Anyone in the area at the time who may have seen the incident is asked to contact DC Jono Pearce, of the area major inquiry team at Sittingbourne Police Station, on 01795 419161.

The victim was attacked between 9pm and 10pm on Thursday, September 2.
