Man run over twice by hit-and-run driver

A pedestrian is recovering after being knocked over by a hit-and-run driver - who then ploughed into him a second time.

The 31-year-old man was mown down by a dark estate car which jumped a red light in Well Road, Maidstone, on Thursday.

As he got up, the driver reversed and hit him again before making off in the direction of Sittingbourne Road.

The victim escaped with cuts on his hands, shoulders and elbow.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened between 5.30pm and 6pm.
