A man aged around 60 suffered minor burns to his face and was treated for inhaling smoke after a fire in a garage last night.

Fire crews were called to Buckland Hill in Maidstone at 7.20pm.

They used a hose reel and water from a hydrant to put out the fire, which is believed to have started accidentally.

The man was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
