A man in his 20s was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital after he was hit by a car in Sutton Road this morning.

The accident happened at the junction with Gore Court Road and the patient suffered a leg fracture.

It is understood that the man was a pedestrian.

Kent Police were called at 9am and closed the road in both directions.

One lane was reopened at 9.53am with the road completely reopened at 10.30am.

A police spokesman was unable to say how serious the man's injuries were.
