A man has been taken to a London hospital after a car crashed into a building.

The collision happened in Tovil Hill, Maidstone, at around 2am this morning.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 2.10am following a report a car had collided with a building in Tovil Hill, Maidstone.

"Officers attended along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man was taken to a London hospital."

"The road was closed while the incident was responded to but has since reopened," he added.

Nearby College Road was also closed in both directions, between Straw Mill Hill and Old Tovil Road.
