A man has been taken to hospital following an accident in Maidstone.

The worker, in his 40s, got his hand trapped in machinery at Dempson Ltd in Hermitage Mills, Hermitage Lane at 7.30am today.

The firm makes paper bags, serviettes and wrapping products.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the man was taken to King's College Hospital in London.

Fire crews also attended to help to free him.

It is not yet known how serious his injuries are. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed.

Dempson Ltd declined to comment on the incident.
