A photograph of a man wanted in connection with a violent robbery at a Maidstone shop has been issued.
Police are hunting Vasile Constantin, 26, following an incident at the Mediterranean supermarket, Loose Road, where a well-known shopkeeper was repeatedly punched in the face and £200 was stolen.
Raj Raveendran, 35, was left beaten and bruised, with swelling around his face and head after the terrifying assault.
At the time of the robbery in May police released CCTV images of a man they wanted to speak to.
Officers have now issued a photograph of Constantin, who is from the town, and are eager to speak to him in relation to the offence.
Following the attack, which happened at around 7.40pm on Friday, May 15, the 5ft 11ins suspect is believed to have run off in the direction of Barton Road.
Det Con Ben Clatworthy, who is investigating the case, said: “This was a vicious attack on an unsuspecting shopkeeper who despite being beaten and bruised was fortunate to have not suffered more serious injuries.”
