A man who died in Maidstone on Sunday prompting a police investigation has been named.

Christopher Johnston, 47, was pronounced dead at his home near School Lane, off Willington Street.

Police had been called to the address shortly before 12.45pm due to concerns for the welfare of a person inside.

Four police cars, two ambulances and forensics officers attended the scene but the death is not being treated as suspicious.

The man's next of kin has been informed and details have been passed to the coroner but an inquest has not yet opened.
