The body of a young man has been found near the River Medway in Maidstone.

Police were called to a pathway next to the water at Allington just after 5.30pm on Easter Sunday, along with ambulance crews.

The man, aged in his 20s, was declared dead at the scene.

A spokesman said: "The death of the man is not being treated as suspicious.

"His next of kin have been informed and a report is being completed for the Coroner."
