A sinkhole has opened up in a busy station car park - completely destroying the surface.
The hole, which is now said to be 4m wide and between 3 and 4m deep, appeared in the Maidstone East Station car park early this morning near the entrance. It is blocking around six car park spaces.
A smaller hole has also appeared nearby.
An area of the car park has been cordoned off and engineers have been at the scene today.
A spokesman for Network Rail said specialist contractors were due to start work on filling it and resurfacing tomorrow.
A full survey of the car park to detect any further voids will also be carried out.
