Medals have been stolen from the home of a police officer in Maidstone.
The haul was taken during a burglary at a house in Giddyhorn Lane, police revealed today.
Among the items stolen was a police long-service medal, two police Jubilee medals and a police Olympic medal.
One of the medals was found by a member of the public at Leybourne Lakes on Tuesday.
Police today issued an appeal for information after a man in his mid-20s - wearing an orange t-shirt and light trousers - was spotted in the area on the day of the burglary, on Monday, June 24.
PC Tim Murrell, from Kent Police, said: "The medals that were stolen are quite identifiable as they are only issued to police officers, so I'm hopeful that if anyone is offered items like this for sale, or finds them dumped, that they contact us.
"A man wearing a distinctive orange top was also seen in the area so if anyone else saw this man, or knows who he is, I would ask them to get in touch."
Kent Police said the house is owned by a police officer from a neighbouring force.
