Military medals were among items taken during a burglary in Eccles.

Police are investigating after the theft in Mackenders Lane, which happened on Tuesday, June 12.

Also taken was a medal that the victim was awarded for service in the fire brigade and a pocket watch in recognition of his service.

The haul also included two chiming clocks.

DC Lisa Edgington from Kent Police said: "These are distinctive items, and it is likely that whoever has them will attempt to sell them on. I would ask people to be cautious if they see such items for sale and to contact us if they have any information."

Anyone with information should contact Kent Police on 101, quoting crime reference YY/10481/12. Alternatively, contact Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
