One lane of the M20 was blocked due to what has been described as a medical incident.
The blockage was on the London-bound carriageway between junction 5 for Aylesford and 6 for Chatham.
An ambulance spokesman confirmed a man in his 50s was feeling unwell at the wheel of his car.
He was taken to Maidstone Hospital.
