A town centre doctor’s surgery and the road outside of it have been closed due to a water leak.
The Albion Place Medical Centre in Maidstone will remain shut until further notice.
A notice posted on the practice’s website said the water leak had “resulted in damage that necessitates the temporary closure of the facility for health and safety reasons”.
It added: “The safety and well-being of our patients are our top priorities, and we believe that this temporary closure is essential to address the issues caused by the water leak.
“Our team is actively working to assess the extent of the damage and make the necessary repairs to ensure a safe environment for everyone.”
Albion Place is in a shared partnership with three other surgeries – at College Road, Barming and Allington.
They remain open and attempts are being made to move appointments due to take place at Albion Place to the other practices.
Patients should wait to be contacted.Updates will be posted on its website here.
The practice added: “We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time.”
Meanwhile Southern Water has closed Albion Place, on Sittingbourne Road which forms part of the A249, to north-bound traffic while it works on the carriageway outside the surgery.
It says the road could stay closed until December 6.
The closure is likely to cause major traffic disruption as it lies on the key A249 link between the A20 and the M20 and Sittingbourne and Sheerness.
Traffic flowing south from the M20 is unaffected at present.
