A talk that could help middle aged women is taking place next week in Maidstone.
Mopping your brow, interrupted sleep and low mood are all signs that you are hitting a certain time in your life that many cultures believe the menopause should be celebrated as a new era in a woman’s life.
Menopause usually comes in three stages: peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopause, and throughout all three phases, hormones tend to run amok, resulting in hot flushes, night sweats, low mood, thinning hair, headaches, tiredness and loss of libido.
Symptoms are unfortunately very common with the NHS estimating approximately 8 out of 10 women will experience one or more symptoms.
There is much greater awareness of this once taboo subject and various natural options are available.
On Tuesday October 29 Maidstone Health Foods will be hosting a Menopause Awareness talk to discuss some of these, with guest speaker and menopause expert, Eileen Durward.
The talk is taking place between 3pm and 4pm at Harpers Café and Gifts, at 12 Market Buildings.
Tickets are available from Maidstone Health Foods, priced £5.00 each.
There will also be tea and coffee on tap, as well as a lovely slice of cake!
Tickets are on a first come first served basis, and demand is expected to be high.
