A miracle mum who survived a cardiac arrest while swimming is celebrating an award after helping others shed the pounds with Slimming World.
Genna Kelly, from Coxheath, awoke from a coma in hospital in June 2013 after slipping out of consciousness at Mote Park Leisure Centre.
The 33-year-old’s life was turned upside down as she was delivered the devastating news she suffered from a rare heart condition.
Genna is now a Slimming World consultant following her brush with death and has just been confirmed as a Silver Consultant after her group lost a total of 165 stone.
Thanks to her success she is set to start a new morning group tomorrow in addition to her 5.30pm and 7.30pm groups on a Wednesday.
All three classes take place at Boughton Monchelsea Social Club, in Church Street, with the Thursday session starting at 9.30am.
The mum-of-two said: “I am delighted to have received the Silver award for the Boughton Monchelsea group. I feel passionately about helping people to transform their lives by losing weight making us all feel happier and healthier so gaining more confidence.
“I became a consultant because I wanted to share that feeling and help other people to achieve the same success I had myself.
“Seeing the members in my groups – mums, dads, grandmas and young people too – reach their target weight is so rewarding and receiving this award is just the icing on the cake.
“This award belongs to the Boughton Monchelsea group members. They are the ones who make our groups the success they are, with their fabulous commitment, the wonderful support they give each other every other week, and, obviously, their impressive weight losses while following Slimming World’s food optimising eating plan.
“I’m over the moon to have become a Silver Consultant and now I’m going for Gold. I have a fabulous job that I love and so many great new friends in the members. I’m very lucky and truly believe I have the best job in the world.”
