A missing 89-year-old has been found safe and well.
A search had been underway for Dennis Whyard who was last spotted on CCTV on Friday evening walking up Buckland Hill from the direction of Maidstone Barracks railway station.
Officers appealed to people living nearby to scour the area.
More than 180 people were involved in the search along with specialist dogs and drones.
Police confirmed he was found in woodland near Allington.
The pensioner was discovered in a "very frail" condition and he was immediately given first aid.
Stewart Baird from Kent Search and Rescue said: "We would like to thank all the members of public who have shared the appeal and who have actively looked for Mr Whyard.
"We would also like to thank our partners London Search and Rescue, Suffolk Search and Rescue, Sussex Search and Rescue, Surrey Search and Rescue, South East 4x4 and NSARDA Kent for all their support with this case."
Chief Inspector Mark Hedges added: "I am really pleased that this vulnerable man has been found safe and well following a distressing ordeal for both him and his family.
"I would commend the exhaustive efforts of my officers, crews from Kent Fire and Rescue Service and, in particular, the Kent Search and Rescue volunteers who were invaluable.
"It is incredible that 184 people gave up over 3,000 hours of their own time to help.
"I am also mindful of local businesses, shops and residents who assisted with the examination of CCTV, checked their own outbuildings, sheds and gardens and shared the appeal on-line."
Mr Whyard's son posted a picture on Facebook of his father recovering in hospital and revealed he had been found in the woods of a school.
Mick Whyard said: "We are overwhelmed at the commitment given by the search teams and the whole family would love to express our heartfelt gratitude to all concerned."
