An accident blocked one lane of a motorway in an area already blighted by roadworks.

The outside lane of the M20 London bound carriageway was blocked between Junction 6 for Blue Bell Hill and Junction 5 for Aylesford.

Queues built in the area where works are taking place to upgrade the stretch of road to a smart motorway.

Speed limits of 50mph are already in place. Traffic was briefly at a standstill due to the crash which happened at around 6.45am.

All lanes have been reopened and congestion has cleared.
