A group of men got into a fight in Maidstone this morning.

Police were called to Brewer Street just after 10.15am to what they described as a disturbance.

One witness said six people were fighting for 15 minutes and questioned why police had not arrived sooner.

Police were unable to comment on how long the fight had been going on for before they arrived.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police received a report of a disturbance involving a small group of men at 10.17am on Saturday, July 16.

"Officers attended the scene in Brewer Street, Maidstone, and spoke to people present. Enquiries are ongoing."

No one has been arrested.
