A WOMAN has died following an incident in Maidstone early today. Scene-of-crime officers and forensic experts are still at Hawley Court in London Road investigating what they believe may have been a suicide.

It is believed the woman may have harmed her daughter before killing herself. The three-year-old is being treated at Maidstone Hospital for serious injuries.

Kent Ambulance called police to the building, next to the White Horse public house, shortly before 2am.

Currently no residents are allowed in or out of the eight-storey block of flats which will remain taped off while police carry out a detailed investigation.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the tragedy.
