Delays are expected after one lane of a busy motorway was shut to allow for emergency works.

The closure affected the London bound carriageway of the M20 between junction 9 for Ashford and junction 8 for Leeds.

Highways England have confirmed the road is now open and the closure was due to a defect with the surface which has now been rectified.
