At least four people have been injured in a four-vehicle crash on the M20.

The accident happened coast-bound between junction 6 and 7 near Maidstone.

Three cars and a van collided and emergency services were called to the scene.

Two lanes out of four were blocked and traffic is built up in the area, causing congestion in Maidstone town centre.

Kent Highways asked drivers to use alternative routes if possible.

It is not thought anyone was seriously injured in the crash, which happened just hours after a lorry and a car collided on the motorway near junction 8.
