A museum’s novelty matchmaking tactic has been revealed as bachelors look set to bag a date during an evening of paper-inspired passion.
Single guys and girls are invited to personalise a paper bag before hiding behind it as they vie for the eye of a would-be partner at Maidstone Museum’s café later this month.
The speed-dating technique is being introduced for men and women to focus on a person’s attributes other than their physical appearance.
A choice of drinks upon arrival will help settle the nerves before members of the opposite sex carry themselves from table to table.
Lyn Palmer, Public Programmes Manager, said: “The idea is that we are taking away the element of looking at somebody’s face.
“It is usually the first thing people look at and when you take it away then you might see how they are dressed, you may smell their perfume and you might fall in love with their voice.
“I had heard of it being done at a London museum before but it is something we loved the idea of and it is based around somebody’s character and personality and not just their looks.”
Maidstone Museum is offering a unique spin on speed dating
The evening of paper bag decorating and dating will take place on Thursday, April 26, with doors opening at 6.30pm.
Tickets for the evening are just £10 and tickets for the evening are available at tinyurl.com/bagdate
