Those in a hurry to check their health can now get a quick blood test without having to wait for a GP appointment.
A new walk-in blood testing clinic has opened in Marsham Street in Maidstone offering an extensive range of blood tests, checking for either a single factor or a comprehensive health overview.
The results are available no later than the next day.
The blood sample can be taken from the vein or via a finger-prick technique.
The clinic is run by One Day Tests, which opened a similar clinic in Tunbridge Wells in August last year.
Dr Adam Staten, a GP and the clinical director at One Day Tests, said: “Our idea is simple.
“Anyone should be able to have a blood test when they want to and how they want to, and receive the results in a consistent and meaningful form.”
“Once they have that data, they can use it to better their health and wellness.”
Dr Staten said: “We’re thrilled to open our new Maidstone clinic and look forward to helping the community take their health into their own hands.”
Patients can be tested for a wide range of conditions including diabetes, cholesterol levels, thyroid disorders, comprehensive hormone overviews and many more.
Prices vary according to the test. A cholesterol test is £37 as is a Vitamin D test. A liver function test is £35, a diabetes test £39 and an early pregnancy test is £49.
The blood samples are tested in One Day Tests’ own pathology laboratory which is regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
