A town centre office could be turned into four flats.
D and E Properties Ltd has submitted an application to Maidstone council to create two flats on each of the first and second floors at No 2-4 Palace Avenue in Maidstone.
The building sits on the corner of Palace Avenue and Lower Stone Street and the ground floor is currently home to H&T Pawnbrokers.
The commercial use on the ground floor will not change, neither will there be any external alterations to the building which is Grade II-listed.
New internal walls will be constructed to give two identical layouts on each of the second and third floors, which are currently offices.
Each floor will have one flat with a bedroom, shower room, and lounge with an integrated kitchen, and one flat with a bedroom, shower room, and lounge with a kitchen alcove.
The conversion of the building, which dates from the 18th century, will require the removal of a rear staircase that climbs only from the second to the third floor.
There is no garden space or parking proposed.
