We may be in the middle of lockdown but that is not stopping some businesses pushing ahead with their expansion plans.
A new branch of Subway will open at the Maidstone Mall shopping centre on Wednesday, December 2.
It will be on the Bus Station Level and open for takeaway from the store or for delivery via Uber Eats.
It will dish up the company's iconic subs, as well as a full range of wraps, salads and sharing platters.
The new franchise will be located next to McDonalds and Hays Travel.
Suzie Brindle, the marketing manager for the Mall, said: “It is a fantastic addition to our growing food court.
"We have been working closely with their team to create a seamless opening on December 2 and ensure our guests can enjoy freshly prepared sandwiches to take-away in a safe environment.”
Senthooran Mathavarajah is the owner of the new Subway.
He said: "We are delighted to open our brand-new restaurant at the Mall Maidstone, especially in the current climate. Our team has pushed ahead to be ready for the opening on December 2 and we look forward to serving the people of Maidstone."
Co-founded in 1965 by Fred DeLuca, a young college student, and Dr Peter Buck, a nuclear physicist, Subway has grown to be one of the top fast food companies in the world, with more than 2,500 restaurants in the UK and Ireland alone.
