Anyone can be a star.
That is the concept of the Chicken Shed Theatre Company, which aims to provide inclusive theatre for youngsters and adults of all backgrounds and abilities, including people with disabilities.
The theatre was founded literally in a disused chicken shed in Cockfosters in London by Mary Ward and Jo Collins way back in 1974.
Since then the concept has grown and there are now 20 other ‘sheds’ across the country.
Now Maidstone is to get its own shed - named the Hop Shed Theatre Company, which will be based at the New Line Learning Academy.
There will be three courses starting in September, for children, young people and adults.
There is a chance to find out what is involved tomorrow night (Thursday) with an open evening at New Line Learning, starting at 6pm.
It will include a performance by Chicken Shed of Crime of the Century.
All welcome.
