A worker at a newsagent’s was allegedly injured after being attacked by a shoplifter.

Kent Police was called to reports of a disturbance in Quarry Hill Road, Tonbridge shortly after 2pm today (Tuesday).

Officers say a man has since been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and assaulting a member of staff.

The victim is said to have suffered minor injuries, including to his hand, in the ordeal.
