It would be less than a mile from Loose village and 10 minutes from Maidstone town centre.

Plans were submitted to the council by Esquire Developments and would create five three-bedroom homes and four four-bedroom homes.
It would also see 18 new parking spaces built on the plot of land which is found on the outskirts of Coxheath along Forstal Lane.

A design statement for the plans said: "This will encourage creativity, diversity and character for the local area.

"As well as providing the required dwellings as set out, the intention of the development is to create an integrated and well-designed community which contributes positively to the housing and land supply mix in the local area whilst contributing a suitable and above all sympathetic addition to Coxheath.

"The principle of good design underpins the proposal, as does the aim to enhance the visual character of the site.

"Additionally the maximum utilisation of local amenities as well as mitigation of any impact on properties adjacent to the scheme as well as the nearby road informs the proposed development.

"The proposals are suitable for the site in terms of land use, amount of development, access, layout and appearance.

"They represent an exciting opportunity to deliver a new, well-designed and diverse scheme providing needed accommodation in Coxheath."

One complaint from a nearby resident raised the issue of more traffic on an already busy road.

Ian Fox, of Forstal Lane, told the council: "I object to this application in view of the added traffic that it will generate in a lane that has already increased its traffic flow recently with other housebuilding.

"The lane is widely used by ramblers, dog walkers and horse riders, and further traffic will undermine their safety.

"The proposed pedestrian link seems especially dangerous, given that it is located immediately after the bend leading from the Coxheath end of Forstal Lane.

"Traffic coming from that direction will not see anyone using that link, and this will be a hazard."
