A walking-mad nine-year-old has raised hundreds of pounds and walked thousands of kilometres for Cancer Research.
Christopher Ponte, from Sutton Road, Maidstone, decided to walk 10,000 steps a day throughout March for the charity, after seeing two of his aunts diagnosed with breast cancer.
Despite his age, the Oaks Primary Academy pupil has raised more than £600 for Cancer Research - and the money is still coming in.
Christopher's mum Karen Ponte, said: "He can't believe how generous people have been and how much he's managed to raise.
"As a family we do a lot of walking, Chris' older brother Jamie is in a wheelchair and sometimes we take him out in a buggy.
"It makes Jamie happy if we keep moving. When Christopher heard about the Walk All Over Cancer scheme on the radio he wanted to do it straight away."
Cancer Research UK organised the 10km a day challenge Walk All Over Cancer, to help raise money to fund treatment into all different types of the disease.
Mrs Ponte, from Sutton Road, said: "My husband's sister were both diagnosed with breast cancer. As soon as he heard about the challenge Chris said 'I really want to do that'.
"We've already raised more than £600, plus gift aid and we still have to count at a tin at the gym.
"We're hoping Cancer Research will send him a certificate so he can explain to everyone at his school what he's done."
Christopher took his 310,000th step to finish his challenge at Core Gym in The Mall, Maidstone, on Sunday.
