A notorious killer - jailed in the 80s for his part in the death of paper boy Jason Swift - was today sent back to prison.
Robert Oliver, now going under the name of Karl Curtis, was jailed for three years at Maidstone Crown Court, for four breaches of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
It's after Oliver, 58, of no fixed address, admitted two breaches of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order last month. He faced a further two when he appeared before Judge Michael Carroll today.
Two were committed on June 4 this year, one on June 6 and the fourth on May 15 this year. They related to children aged between three and 13.
The court heard he gave a birthday card to one, and allowed another to use his toilet.
The offences on June 4 related to two children knocking on his door.
It's thought Oliver had been living in Kent for more than five years, after being driven out of his then home in Somerset by an angry crowd.
He was living there after serving his 15-year sentence for his part in the 1985 killing of 14-year-old Jason Swift by a paedophile gang, led by the infamous Sidney Cooke.
He has been in Elmley prison since his arrest.
Speaking after sentencing, DC Victoria Rixon from Kent Police said: "Karl Curtis has a long offending history and is therefore a registered sex offender, and is also subject to a sex offender prevention order.
"We rigorously enforce these orders and within 24 hours of receiving information suggesting Curtis had breached his order he was arrested and has remained in prison ever since.
"He will now serve three years in prison, and when he is released will face the same close monitoring."
