Police seized an off-road motorbike at the weekend in Coxheath.

On Saturday morning, officers were called to the village after reports that two off-road motorbikes were being driven in an anti social manner.

Police community support officers located two teenage boys at the village hall, and both were interviewed at the scene.

One off-road bike was seized from an 18-year-old, who was also reported for traffic offences including driving driving without insurance, riding without a helmet and not holding a valid MOT certificate. A second boy, aged 14, was given a warning and was also reported for traffic offences.

PC Jo Hazelwood from Kent Police said: “Aside from the danger that the boys were putting themselves in by not wearing the appropriate safety equipment, they were also causing huge annoyance within the village.

"Although they weren’t aware of the nuisance they were causing, a total of six different residents called police to report the same incident, and I’m pleased that we were able to locate those involved and seize a bike. Anti-social behaviour can have a significant impact on local residents, and we would encourage them to keep reporting any instances so we can take action.”
