Police have been patrolling areas around Boxley to tackle the anti social use of off-road motorbikes.

Officers in Pilgrims Way in Boxley and Boxley Warren stopped two motorcyclists and issued them with warnings advising them that they risk having their vehicle seized if they continue to use it in the area. A third motorcyclist was stopped from entering the nature reserve and given advice around the use of his motorbike in the area.

The area is a restricted by-way and the nature reserve also contains an area which has been dedicated as a Natural England site of special scientific interest.

Further patrols are planned throughout the summer.

PC Marc Pennicott from the Rural Partnership Team said: "Following concerns that were reported by local residents and walkers, we have increased patrols in the area and have challenged a number of motorcyclists.

"Motorbikes that are used in a manner that causes annoyance to local residents can be seized and motorcyclists should bear this in mind when using their vehicles."
