When 48-year-old Les Roberts got out of bed last Thursday he had every right to imagine he’d be at his desk in London by 9am.
He was wrong.
Instead he found himself standing in the car park of Maidstone Hospital at 6.30am, having just “caught” his newborn daughter, Molly, and thinking: “Oh my God, what do I do now?”
A little over 15 minutes earlier, Mr Roberts had been getting dressed at his home in Loose Road, Maidstone, when his wife, Nicola, realised she was about to give birth.
A dramatic race for Maidstone Hospital ensued and a little while later, Molly was born.
