MEMBERS of the Regimental Association of the Queen's Own Buffs, the Royal Kent Regiment, staged their annual reunion in Maidstone.
Some 150 members of the association, which was formed when the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment and the Buffs, the Royal East Kent Regiment amalgamated in 1961, marched through the town centre, led by the Kohima band of the 3rd Battalion, the Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment, of the Territorial Army.
The salute was taken at town hall by the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Morel D'Souza, and Col Crispin Champion, president of the Kent Association.
Before their march through the town, members gathered at Brenchley Gardens for a wreath laying ceremony to remember the former members of the regiment who fell in the two world wars.
The march was followed by a remembrance service held at All Saints' Church, Maidstone. Afterwards, members and their families enjoyed a lunch, band concert and Standard Bearers' competition at the Kent Hall, Maidstone.
