Police are probing a suspected arson at an orchard in East Farleigh.

A 4x4 was torched at the Forge Lane site last night, with the blaze destroying the off-roader and spreading to nearby apple bins.

The fire service sent three vehicles to the site an 9.45pm and spent almost an hour tackling the flames.

While initially reported as an out-of-control bonfire it was quickly established to be deliberate and Kent Police was informed.

All appliances had left the scene by 10.40pm.

A Kent Police spokesman confirmed inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
