Three fire engines were called to an out of control bonfire which ended up damaging nearby properties.
Two people were treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns after the blaze in Ashford Road, Lenham, spread to a large headrow, two properties and two outbuildings.
Three engines and crew attended the fire near Maidstone, which started at 2pm, with three casualties were placed into the care of paramedics.
The fire service left the scene around one-hour-and-a-half later at 3.38pm.
Following the incident, firefighters are urging anyone who is having a bonfire to keep it small and well away from fences, greenery and property.
A spokesman said: "It's important to have a hosepipe or bucket of water to hand in case it starts to spread, however always call 999 in an emergency."
