A20 through Maidstone to close overnight at 7pm for three nights for pothole repairs

Motorists may feel they have enough road closures and diversions to deal with, but sadly there is more to come.

The A20 Ashford Road through Maidstone will be closed overnight from Monday, October 9, for three nights to enable Kent County Council to carry out patching works.

The road will be shut in both directions between its junctions with Willington Street and New Cut Road between 7pm and 4am.

KCC has identified a large number of potholes in that stretch of the road and also intends to reset a gully frame and cover and repaint the white lines at the same time.

The closure will not affect traffic following the official diversion route that runs along the A20 for vehicles currently unable to pass through Leeds village, because of water main replacement works in Upper Street, the B2163.

That traffic will still be able to access Willington Street as it does currently.
