Overnight roadworks have been cancelled for the rest of this week.

Kier Group carries out the Smart Motorway improvement work on the M20 near Maidstone.

A stretch of the motorway, from for Junction 4 at Leybourne to Junction 6 at Maidstone was supposed to close in both directions between 8pm and 6am each night this week.

Today it has been announced the closure has been cancelled.

We have approached Kier Group and Highways England for a comment.

Overnight works have caused long standing problems in and around the M20, so much so MPs have campaigned for Kier Group to finish work earlier each morning.
