A crash in which a car flipped onto its roof blocked the M20 this evening.

The accident, involving two cars, happened coastbound between junction 7 for the A249 and junction 8 for the A20, just after 6.30pm.

Firefighters freed a woman from her car and she was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Traffic was held for more than an hour while emergency services deal with the crash.

The road was reopened just before 8pm.
