Two men have appeared in court after being charged with kidnapping a man in Maidstone.
Zeno Mich-Onyibe, 23, of Chilfont Avenue, Middlesex, appeared before Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, June 8, charged with kidnap and possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply.
Lamar Blackstock, 26, of south London, also appeared before the court charged with kidnap and possession of a Class A drug.
Officers were called to Regent Close, Maidstone, on Thursday, June 1, following a report of a man being kidnapped.
The victim was walking along the road when two men pulled up alongside him in a silver vehicle.
One man shouted at the victim, calling out a name. The victim replied by saying that was not him.
One of the men then exited the vehicle and forced the man into the car.
The victim was driven around and was trying to get out of the vehicle when it stopped and both men assaulted the victim.
The man continued to try and get out of the car. He managed to open a door and was able to run away.
Blackstock was released on conditional bail and Mich-Onyibe was remanded in custody. Both are due before Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, July 12.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to this incident.
