The name of a Maidstone estate has increasingly come under scrutiny in recent months.

Park Wood, off Sutton Road, has for years been referred to as just that, but more and more often businesses in the area have favoured the one word alternative.

While the industrial estate is sign posted with the area's traditional title, numerous company addresses now include Parkwood.

As a publication, we've stuck to our guns, as have bus companies and community centres.
