Armed Forces Day was marked today as military personnel, Royal British Legion veterans, KCC members and staff, and members of the public watched the annual flag-raising ceremony at County Hall.
KCC Chairman Ann Allen said the event was “a show of support for Britain's Armed Forces - past, present and future.”
She said: “This is an opportunity to raise the flag in honour of the men and
women who make up the Armed Forces community, including Service families, cadets, veterans and recruits.
“I, and my colleagues here in County Hall, are delighted that the strength of support continues to grow for the men and women of our Armed Services who are working tirelessly to defend the UK and its interests.”
Buglers John Leigh and Barry Knight played to cue for the raising of the flag on the roof of County Hall.
